Rebacked a 1924 novel and the spine finally cooperated on try 5

Spent Tuesday fighting with a wobbly text block from an old Scribner's copy, switched from wheat paste to PVA after my third fail, and the spine creased just right at the hinge, has anyone else hit that sweet spot where the animal glue and the cloth finally agree?
