Spent $120 on a leather paring knife that just collects dust

I started binding journals last fall and thought I needed the fancy Japanese paring knife for trimming leather covers. Turns out my old box cutter with a fresh blade does the same job in half the time, so the expensive one sits in a drawer. Anyone else buy a specialty tool early on that you never actually use?
