That $12 bone folder from the craft store was a total waste

Bought a cheap plastic bone folder at Michael's for 12 bucks and it snapped on my second book. Had to order a real cow bone one from Talas for 25 bucks that's been going strong for 6 months now. Anyone else had luck with the cheaper ones or am I just rough on my tools?

oh man, that sucks. yeah cheap plastic bone folders are basically a scam, they break the second you actually put pressure on them. i learned that the hard way too, snapped one just folding a single signature. i switched to a wood one from a local shop and it's been way better, no cracking or anything. you're not rough on tools, those cheap ones are just bad quality.

Get a wooden one with some give to it, they last way longer. I've had mine for two years now and it still works perfect, no chips or anything.
