My jacket's held up three winters now and it's that vegan stuff. I mean it's clearly not real leather, but it does the job fine without all the extra harm. Idk, maybe it's just me but I can't tell much difference in how it feels anymore. The new stuff seems way better than the weird plastic from a few years back. It's gotta be better for the planet, right? That's the whole point for me.

Hey @taylor.betty, have you seen what that vegan leather is actually made from? A lot of it's still plastic based, so it doesn't just disappear. The planet part isn't so simple.

Actually @taylor.betty, the planet part is what gets me. A lot of that vegan leather is just plastic with a fancy name, so it sheds tiny bits forever and won't ever break down. Real leather lasts way longer if you take care of it, so you don't need to replace it as often. The new stuff might feel better, but it's still mostly a fossil fuel product. That doesn't seem like a real win for the environment to me.
