Cataloging old service invoices turned up a 30 dollar gem
I spent last Saturday digitizing a box of invoices from a defunct HVAC outfit in Tacoma. Buried in 1987 paperwork was a hand-written note about a customer who paid 30 bucks for a duct cleaning and then left a tip for the tech. Took me a second to realize that tip was a 100 dollar bill, and the tech never cashed it. My boss laughed and said that's the kind of detail you only find when you read every line, not just the totals. Anyone else ever stumble on a weird human moment buried in old records?
