Spent 4 hours tracking down a wiring fault in a 1987 Otis elevator only to find it in a door sensor connector
Last Tuesday I got called to a 6 story office building in Portland because the elevator kept stopping on floors 3 and 5 with no door obstruction. I pulled the controller prints, tested every relay, and swapped two boards before I noticed the door operator connector had a tiny green corrosion spot that only showed up when the car hit exactly those landings. How do you all handle intermittent electrical gremlins that only show up at specific floors?

Floor 3 and 5 sharing a wire run means vibration at those stops wiggles that corrosion just enough.
