Spent 45 minutes at a client's 1920s house in Boise last Tuesday watching my $60 stud finder beep at nothing, then my coworker handed me a $2 rare earth magnet on a string and it snapped right to the nails in under 30 seconds. Anyone else give up on fancy scanners for old walls, or is there a brand that finally works?
