Warning: nobody respects the hand dryer repair guy until the restaurant bathroom smells like a wet dog for a week
Everyone treats hand dryers as disposable junk, but that motor and heating element are doing real work and most people never once think about the guy who keeps them alive. I fixed 14 units across three strip malls in Boise last month and every owner said the same thing, that they never knew the things even had filters inside. When is the last time you actually looked up at the one in your gym?

14 units in one month is a lot of driving between strip malls, and I bet not one of those owners offered to cover your gas. That part bugs me the most. I clean the vents in my apartment building's laundry room and nobody has ever said a word about it either, they just get mad when the room smells funky. The wet dog smell is real too, that trapped lint and dust just bakes in there until it stinks up the whole bathroom. You're doing work people only notice when it stops, and even then they blame the building. Hang in there, the gym one near me probably needs you more than it knows.
