The county tax site that actually helped me appeal

I spent 2 months avoiding the appeal process because our county website looked like it was built in 2004. But last Tuesday I finally clicked through every page on the assessor's portal and found a step by step guide with actual dollar examples for my zip code in Tacoma. Used their own template to file, got my assessment dropped by $18k. Has anyone else found a hidden gem on a government site that wasn't totally useless?

That $18k drop is huge, congrats on sticking with it. I know that feeling of dread when a government site looks like a relic from the dial-up days, it took me three separate tries to even find the right form for my property in King County. Finding those buried examples with real numbers makes all the difference, it's like they hide the useful stuff on purpose.
