Can we talk about the new plant shop that opened on Main Street last month?

Honestly, I went in there last week and it was packed. They had this huge Monstera for $120 and the owner, Sarah, said they sold three of them that day. It feels like way more people are into houseplants now than even three years ago. Has anyone else seen this kind of thing in their town?

Yeah, I've seen that too, but it feels like the bubble might be popping a bit. My local shop had way less traffic this spring than last year. Those high prices for common plants seem to be sticking around, but I'm not sure how many people are actually buying them now. It could just be my area, but the initial rush seems to have calmed down.

That's interesting to hear about your local shop, @max808. From what I see, the demand just shifted instead of going away. The big box stores near me still have plenty of traffic, but people are buying different things now. They're picking up tougher, harder to kill plants like snake plants and ZZ plants instead of the fussy trending ones. The initial plant panic buyers might be gone, but a lot of people who got into the hobby are sticking with it and just getting smarter about what they buy.
