I was planting bulbs upside down for three years before my neighbor walked over

I noticed my daffodils kept coming up barely blooming and looked all twisted, but I figured it was just bad soil. Then Mrs. Peterson from two doors down watched me plant a round of tulips and asked why I was putting the pointy side down. Has anyone else done something embarrassing like that after gardening for ages?

Started doing stuff like that too and now I just accept it as part of my brain's wiring. I mean, it's like my hands are on autopilot while my head is busy thinking about what's for dinner or if I need gas. The plant thing is funny because you kept doing it for three years straight, which is solid commitment at least. Maybe it's just me but I think we all have these little blind spots where our brain just skips over the basic stuff because it's so routine.
