My $90 propagator melted my seedlings overnight
Got a heated propagator from a garden center in Portland last month for about $90. Set it up with my tomato seeds, followed the instructions, but the temp controller stuck on high. Woke up to wilted stems and soil that felt like a hot tub. Anyone else had a heated propagator fail on them like this?

Not really seeing the huge tragedy here, @charles_lewis14 already pointed out the probe thing which is honestly the most likely culprit. A few wilted tomato stems isn't exactly a garden apocalypse, you can just start more seeds. Probably just a bad batch of equipment rather than some major design flaw.

idk maybe it's just me but have you checked if the thermostat probe was even touching the soil right? I had a cheap mat once where the sensor was dangling in the air inside the mat, so it kept running way hotter than it should've. That might be your issue if the controller itself is broken, but sometimes just tucking the probe into the actual dirt can save the day.
