My prize Hoya started dropping leaves after I moved it 3 feet to the left

I have this Hoya carnosa that I've had for about 4 years. It was doing great on my kitchen counter near the window, putting out new leaves every month. Last Saturday I decided to shift it maybe 3 feet to the left so I could fit a toaster there. By Tuesday morning I found 7 leaves on the floor, all yellow and soft. I panicked and moved it back right away, but it kept dropping leaves for two more days. I think I shocked it with a tiny change in light or air flow. Has anyone else had a plant freak out over a small move like that? I'm down to about half the foliage now and I don't know if I should trim it or just leave it alone.

Wait did you check for any draft from the window that changed when you moved it? Sometimes a tiny air current you barely notice can totally wreck a Hoya, mine hates any sudden changes in airflow even more than light shifts. Did you peek at the roots at all yet or just let it ride back in its original spot?

Oh man, I totally feel your pain! I had the same thing happen with my Hoya and it turned out the soil was staying too wet in the new pot, so I switched to a terracotta one and mixed in extra perlite and that fixed it right up. Did you check if the pot you moved it to has drainage holes?
