My rubber tree told me to lay off the shears
I was snipping leaves every weekend thinking it would boost growth. (You know, like a routine haircut.) But the plant got leggy and dropped a bunch of leaves. I quit cutting it for a full month, and it pushed out big, healthy new growth. Honestly, check if your plant is actually asking for a trim before you start.

Totally get this with my ficus a while back. Kept trimming it to make it bushier, but it just got more sparse and sad looking. Finally left it completely alone for like six weeks, no cuts at all. The thing exploded with new shiny leaves once it stopped being stressed. Sometimes they just need to be left alone to do their thing.

Learned this the hard way with a spider plant I basically butchered, lol. I was so sure cutting the brown tips would help, but I went way too far and it looked like a sad, mangled mess for months. Felt like a plant criminal until I finally ignored it and it grew back better.
