Thought I could fix a stubborn vine in a weekend, took 3 months
I noticed a trumpet vine creeping under my fence into the garden bed. Figured I'd dig it out in a Saturday afternoon. Turned out those roots ran 15 feet across the yard under the pavers. I kept finding new shoots popping up for 12 weeks before I finally gave up and hired a guy with a mini excavator. Has anyone else had a plant that just refused to die no matter what you did?

Holy crap, lol. Japanese knotweed did the same thing to my yard.

You had Japanese knotweed too? How long did it take to get rid of it? I had a patch in my backyard that just kept coming back no matter what I did. Ended up digging out like a foot of soil and still had roots popping up a year later. That stuff is relentless, I swear it could grow through concrete. My neighbor used this special herbicide and it still took three seasons to kill it off.
