Appreciation post: An old timer in Cleveland showed me his trick for keeping a line level in high wind.
He just said, 'Kid, put a small bag of sand on the line block, not a brick,' and it worked like a charm for me last spring.

Why did I use a whole brick?

The phrase "whole brick" just unlocked a core memory for me. My uncle tried to build a small garden wall and used way too much mortar, like a whole bag for ten bricks. We spent the next weekend chipping it all off because it looked like a solid concrete block. Sometimes you just commit to the bit without thinking it through, you know?

Wait, you guys actually used a whole brick? I always figured more weight meant more stability, but that bag of sand trick makes way more sense now after trying it myself.
