Hit 50,000 bricks laid this week and it hit me hard

I was counting up for a job I finished Tuesday in Phoenix and realized I passed 50,000 bricks laid since I started. That number surprised me because I never kept track until now. I started as a helper in 2019 stacking mud and never thought I'd get this far. It matters because it shows the little things add up over time. Anyone else ever check their total and get caught off guard?

My first big job in 2019 was a retaining wall in Flagstaff that took me 6 weeks. I was just helping then, hauling mud and stacking brick. When I finally got to lay my own course, I messed up the corner so bad the foreman made me redo it the next day. That taught me to plan each row before I ever pick up a brick. Kind of like how you just did 50k without realizing it, those little lessons stack up too.

50k is just a number, not the real measure of skill.
