PSA: Skip the $60 laser level gadget and spend $12 on a 4 foot spirit level instead
I blew $60 on one of those self leveling laser cubes last spring and it drifted a quarter inch over 20 feet on a garage job in Mesa, so I went back to my $12 Stabila clone and my corners have been dead on ever since. Anybody else got a laser story that ended with you digging it out of the truck for a paperweight?

My old boss made us hang cabinets in a house in Gilbert with nothing but a chalk line and a 2 foot level, and those doors still shut smooth ten years later. The fancy tools don't fix bad eyes or a rushed hand, and most of the laser drift I've seen came from the tripod getting bumped, not the unit itself. Half the time the cheap tool forces you to slow down and actually check your marks twice, which is the whole job anyway.
