Skim coat mix disaster ate my whole Saturday

Bought a 5 gallon bucket of premixed skim coat on sale, thought I was saving $40. Turned out it was old stock, lumpy as hell, and dried way too fast on the wall. Spent 6 hours in Ocean City trying to scrape it off and redo a 12x10 room. Anyone else got burned buying bulk compound on clearance instead of fresh bags?
