Trying to match a 100-year-old mortar color for a historic district repair
Honestly, I spent 3 full days just mixing test batches before I got the tint right. Anyone have a go-to additive for that aged, slightly pinkish hue?

Oh man, I feel your pain in my soul. Three days sounds about right for that kind of color matching nightmare. I've heard a tiny bit of powdered brick clay can give you that pinkish undertone without looking fake. That aged color is never just one thing from the bag, is it?

Honestly, that powdered brick clay trick is a solid idea for getting those warm undertones right. It's all about adding just enough to look real without going overboard. Matching old colors really does take some kitchen sink creativity sometimes.

Yeah, nobody talks about how the light in the room changes the color completely too!
