Vent: My mortar went bad overnight and I had to tear out 40 feet of wall
Mixed a batch with cold water last Tuesday in Portland and by morning it was crumbling like dry sand, so I ripped out 40 feet of freshly laid brick and redid it with warm water and a plastic cover, has anyone else had temperature wreck a whole morning's work like that?

Cold water's not your problem, that mix was bad before you ever touched it.
