Watched a guy stack a whole wall with the frog facing the wrong way
Was helping out on a job in Fort Worth last month and this new guy kept setting bricks with the frog down. I asked him why and he said it felt more stable that way. Look, the frog side up gives you better mortar key and a stronger bond, that's just basic physics. After three rows he had to rip it all out because the wall was already showing cracks. Has anyone else had to fix a mess like this from someone skipping the basics?

Man I've seen this exact thing before and it drives me crazy! A guy on my crew tried the frog down method once because he thought it saved mortar and we had to tear out half a retaining wall a week later. It's wild how people skip the basics and then act surprised when everything falls apart.

My uncle tried the frog down trick on a backyard shed once and the whole back wall leaned like the Tower of Pisa after two rainstorms. His excuse was he "saw it on some YouTube video." Did the video show you how to fix the cracks too?
