Called BS on the dollar store tool myth until I broke a $30 screwdriver
I used to swear by spending real money on tools, but last month I snapped a name brand flathead prying open a paint can. Picked up a $1.25 set from Dollar General just to finish the job, and that cheap thing has held up through 3 weeks of pressure washer disassembly. Has anyone else had a cheapo tool outlast something from the big box store?

Oh man, my buddy swore by his expensive Craftsman set until he busted a socket trying to loosen a rusty bolt. He grabbed a random no-name kit from the gas station and it's still going strong a year later lol.

Hang on though, did you use that flathead for what a flathead is actually for? I've seen guys snap expensive screwdrivers because they were hammering on them or using them as pry bars. My dad was a contractor for 35 years and always said buy the cheap tool if you're gonna abuse it. But for actual turning of screws day in and day out, I'll take a proper set every time. Not saying cheap stuff can't surprise you, but one screwdriver lasting three weeks isn't exactly a long term test.
