I burned $340 on "budget" LED shop lights before a guy at the flea market showed me the $12 fix
Kept blowing money on cheap LED fixtures for my garage because the boxes all said 5000K daylight and 8000 lumens. Three of them died in under a year, and the fourth flickered so bad it gave me a headache every time I looked up at it. A retired electrician at the flea market in Stockton looked at my receipt and just laughed, then told me the whole problem was heat, the drivers cook themselves inside those sealed plastic housings. He sold me four porcelain socket bases for $3 each and told me to run plain 100 watt equivalent LED bulbs with the plastic globes popped off so air moves around them. Total cost was under $40 and I have run those bulbs daily for 14 months straight with zero failures. Why does nobody print "these will fry in 8 months" on the box so we stop rebuying the same junk?
