Last month I patched a hole in my jeans with a piece of an old t-shirt and nobody noticed for 3 weeks

I ripped a hole right on the knee of my only decent pair of work pants. Couldn't afford new ones until payday. Found a matching blue t-shirt from a thrift store haul 2 years ago, cut a square, and hand stitched it inside the hole. Literally no one said a word until my roommate pointed it out while doing laundry. Has anyone else gotten away with a fix that should've looked terrible?

Swear to god I wore a pair of jeans for TWO MONTHS with a patch made from a mismatched sock. It was bright green and the jeans were dark blue. I just told myself it was a "statement piece" and nobody ever called me out on it. One coworker even complimented my "cool distressed look" and I just nodded like I meant to do it. Honestly the best part is how proud I felt every time I looked down at that goofy patch.

Oh man, that's way better than my "fashion statement" phase. I had a pair of khakis with a hole in the knee that I just... safety pinned shut with a bunch of mismatched paperclips. Looked like I was trying to start a stapler rebellion on my leg. The worst part was one broke off and I found it in my laundry months later, still bent in a little zigzag shape like it was proud of its service.
