My cousin's $3 fix beat my $60 solution for drafty windows

I bought those fancy shrink film kits and spent a whole afternoon fighting with double-sided tape and a hairdryer. My cousin laughed and said just use bubble wrap and a spray bottle, water sticks the bubbles right to the glass. Tried it on my bedroom window last week and the draft totally stopped, plus it peels off clean with zero residue. Why did I never listen to the woman who's been living on one paycheck for 20 years? Anyone else found a goofy cheap trick that outworked the store bought version?
