My dryer ate $14 in quarters and my laundry room meltdown

Last Tuesday at the Laundromat on Maple Ave, the dryer stopped after 8 minutes even though I put in $2.25. I was carrying a full basket of wet jeans and towels, and my card was already tapped out. I pulled the lint trap out and it was packed solid, so I cleaned it and hit the restart button, but the machine just beeped. I ended up draping everything over the shower rod and chairs in my apartment, took two days to dry. Has anyone else had a machine just refuse to cooperate no matter what you do? I'm thinking about buying my own drying rack but I need one that actually holds up.
