My sister called me out for wasting money on name brand cleaners
She watched me spend $8 on a spray for the kitchen and just shook her head... told me to mix half vinegar with half water in a old bottle. I tried it on my greasy stove in Denver and it worked better than the expensive stuff. Anyone else have a relative who proved you were doing it all wrong?

Vinegar and water is one of those things that works so well you feel dumb for not trying it sooner. That combo cuts through grease like nothing else, especially on those older stoves that have years of buildup. Your sister did you a solid, seriously. Store bought sprays are mostly water with a little soap and a whole lot of markup. Once you start mixing your own, you'll never look back at the aisle of overpriced bottles.

My kitchen was a nightmare before I tried this. I remember scrubbing this one spot on my old gas stove that had been there since I moved in like two years ago, nothing would touch it. Mixed up a 50/50 spray bottle of white vinegar and water, let it sit for maybe five minutes, and it wiped off like it was never there. Felt like a total idiot for buying all those expensive sprays that smell like fake lemons and barely do anything. Now I keep a bottle under the sink all the time, even use it on my microwave and fridge handles. Seriously, once you go homemade, the store stuff feels like a scam.
