Picked up a $5 vegetable spiralizer at a yard sale and it's saved me on groceries

I was at a yard sale two weekends ago and saw this old spiralizer for $5. Figured why not, even if it just sat in the drawer. Turns out I've been making zucchini noodles every night instead of buying pasta. A pack of zucchinis costs me like $2 and lasts a week, versus a box of pasta for $1.50 that only covers two meals. I also tried it on carrots and sweet potatoes for quick stir fry. It's a cheap way to stretch veggies into more meals. Anyone else find a random kitchen tool that cut their food bill?

You ever have one of those small kitchen gadgets you swore you'd never use? I was the same way with spiralizers. Always figured they were just another gimmick taking up drawer space. But honestly, seeing you say it saved you on groceries made me rethink that. I might have to try it with carrots for stir fry now, that sounds practical.

3 drawers deep in my kitchen right now is a spiralizer I used twice in 2020. The first time took 20 minutes to clean the thing, and by the time I was done, I could've just chopped the carrots with a knife and saved myself the hassle. Ngl, those gadgets only work if you're making something that actually needs that shape, like zucchini noodles for a fancy salad. For stir fry, the spiralized carrots get soft and weird, they don't hold up like regular slices do. So I'd say borrow one from a friend first before you spend money on another thing that'll just sit next to the garlic press you never use either.
