PSA: a $2 drain snake from Harbor Freight saved me a $180 plumber visit on Sunday
My kitchen sink in my Toledo apartment backed up so bad last Sunday that I had an inch of gray water sitting in both basins. Instead of calling someone, I grabbed the $2 zip tie style drain snake from Harbor Freight and pulled out a hair and grease clog about 8 inches long. Took me 15 minutes and one ruined sponge. Has anyone else had luck with the cheap plastic ones or do the $20 metal augers actually work better for the deeper clogs?
