Rant: My fridge died and I fixed it with a $8 part off Amazon

My fridge stopped cooling last Tuesday and I was panicking about buying a new one. I looked up the error code online and it pointed to the start relay being bad. Found a replacement for 8 bucks on Amazon, swapped it out in 10 minutes with a screwdriver, and it's been running fine for 3 days now. Anyone else had luck fixing appliances instead of tossing them?

Man that's awesome... I did the same thing with my dryer last year, found a thermal fuse for like 12 bucks and it's been working perfect ever since. Feels good when you outsmart the repair guy and the big box stores at the same time.
