The lightbulb in my fridge burned out and I fixed it with a headlamp

Honestly, my fridge light went dark last Tuesday and I couldn't find a replacement bulb anywhere in my apartment. I just strapped my old camping headlamp to the top shelf with a rubber band, and now it lights up every time I open the door. Has anyone else MacGyvered something dumb like this?

so I did basically the same thing a few years back with my fridge light. the bulb was one of those weird small ones that nobody stocks, and I was too lazy to drive to a hardware store. I just clipped a little LED camping lantern to the wire shelf with a binder clip and it worked great for like six months until I finally replaced the bulb. one thing I learned is to make sure the headlamp or lamp is set to a warm white if you can, because the cool blue LEDs made all my leftovers look kind of unappetizing. also check if the battery lasts long enough for your fridge trips, because camping lights drain quicker than you think. did you leave the headlamp on full brightness or did you dim it down?

Yeah I kept mine on full brightness mostly because the dim setting was too weak to see the back corners of my fridge. You hit it on the head about the cool blue light making stuff look weird though, @seana14, I switched to a warm LED keychain light after a week of everything looking like it belonged in a science lab. Also ended up taping a piece of cardboard over the sensor so it didn't turn off every time the door closed.
