Why does nobody talk about using your library's free streaming service instead of Netflix?

I used to pay $16 a month for Netflix and still couldn't find anything good to watch. Last month I got a library card in Portland and found out they have Kanopy for free. I've watched 5 documentaries and 2 indy movies since then, no charge. Has anyone else tried the hoopla app through their local library?

Actually, libraries also let you borrow museum passes and even hotspots these days.

Man, I get what you're saying but I don't totally agree. Kanopy and Hoopla are cool and all but the selection is still pretty limited compared to Netflix or even Hulu. I tried Hoopla through my library here in Denver and yeah there's some hidden gems but a lot of the movies are older or super niche. Plus you get like 5 or 10 borrows a month before they lock you out, so it's not really a replacement. Netflix might be expensive but at least you can binge watch a whole show without watching the clock. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad libraries offer these apps but it's not the same as just paying for a full streaming service.
