Why does nobody tell you that a $4 phone stand from Five Below fixed my whole desk setup?
I was at the Five Below on Georgia Ave in DC about 2 months ago and grabbed one of those little collapsible phone stands just to hit $5 on my card. Got home, put my phone on it next to my laptop, and realized I could use it as a second screen for recipes and grocery lists while I cook. Been doing that ever since instead of propping my phone on a coffee mug. Anyone else find random cheap stuff that ends up being way more useful than the $40 version?
My $60 "pro" laptop riser has been sitting in a drawer for a year while a $3 IKEA tablet holder does the actual work of holding my phone at eye level. The fancy one wobbled so bad my coffee would ripple, but the cheap plastic thing hasn't moved once. I spent real money learning that lesson and I'm still not over it.
