Am I the only one who thinks canned beans are better than dried?
Everyone raves about cooking dry beans from scratch. Says it's cheaper and tastes better. I tried it for 3 months straight. Lentils, chickpeas, black beans. The texture was always off or they took forever. Canned beans cost like $1.20 a can near me. I can season them however I want in 5 minutes. What am I missing here? Has anyone else given up on dried beans?

Stick with canned beans if they work for you. I tried the dried bean thing for like a year and honestly the texture was never consistent enough for me to justify the extra time and effort. Canned beans are totally fine, especially if you rinse them well and adjust the seasoning which is what I do now most days.

Totally get where you're coming from. I had the same problem with dried beans. The texture was either too mushy or still had a hard bite to them no matter what I did. It was frustrating enough that I just gave up after a few months. Canned beans are perfectly fine once you rinse them and add your own stuff. The time savings alone make it worth it for me.
