Hit $200 in my grocery budget last week and it felt like a win

I've been trying to keep our family of four's grocery bill under $250 a week for months now. Last week I actually hit $197.52 and I almost couldn't believe it. The trick was I planned all our meals around what was on sale at the Piggly Wiggly near my house. I made a big pot of chili on Sunday that stretched into three meals with rice. Then I did a cheap chicken and dumplings thing using those canned biscuits. I also stopped buying name brand cereal and got the store brand instead. It saved like $4 just on that one swap. Have any of you found a certain meal that just keeps giving for cheap?

Oh man, you're telling me. I've been working on this new diet where my family just stares at pictures of food on Pinterest. It's going great, we're all down to a healthy... well, we're not down to anything because we're completely translucent now. Next step is to just smell the grocery store produce section and call it dinner.
