I finally tried making my own veggie broth from scraps and it saved me like $4 a week

I mean, I used to just buy the cartons, but after saving onion skins, carrot ends, and celery leaves in a freezer bag for a month, I boiled them with some peppercorns and got a totally decent broth for basically free.

Did you see that article about how onion skins add a ton of color and flavor? I read that and started keeping all my peels. My last batch came out way darker and richer than just using the chopped ends.
