Just realized my grocery bill for a family of four was under $75 this week
I finally tried that 'cook once, eat twice' plan with a big pot of chili and a whole roasted chicken. The chicken carcass made soup, and the chili stretched into two dinners. I shopped at Aldi and stuck to my list. Has anyone else hit a specific low number they didn't think was possible?

Sounds good on paper, but that number hides a lot of real costs. You probably already had basics like oil and spices at home, which you bought on a different trip. This also ignores the time spent cooking and planning, which has its own value. Hitting a low number once doesn't mean you can keep it up every single week, either.
