My grandma's meatloaf recipe finally beat the grocery store price hike

Three years ago I could feed the whole family for $8, but last month that same ground beef and veggie list ran me $14 at the Kroger in Wichita. I got frustrated and dug out her old recipe card with the crushed saltines and ketchup glaze, and turns out stretching it with oats and a beaten egg still works just like she said. Anyone else dusting off older recipes to fight these newer prices, or are you finding cheaper tricks I haven't tried?
