My grocery bill dropped $40 a week after I started meal planning on Sundays
I used to just wander the store and grab whatever looked good, and my weekly total was always around $120. Then I started planning 5 dinners each Sunday around whatever meat or veggies were on sale at Kroger - now I'm usually out the door for $80 even. Has anyone else seen a big shift from a simple habit like that?

Oh come on, is saving $40 a week really that life changing? You went from wandering the store like a normal person to being one of those weekend planners with a clipboard. I tried that meal planning stuff once and by Wednesday I'd have half the stuff rotting in the fridge cause I didn't feel like eating chicken again. Unless you're feeding a family of six, $80 vs $120 for one person seems like you're just buying less stuff, not actually budgeting smarter.
