Scored a 10-pound bag of chicken thighs for $7 at the local grocery markdown bin
Last Wednesday I hit the discount meat shelf at Kroger right when the butcher was stocking it, grabbed the bag and froze them in 2-pound portions for easy meals. Anyone else find a crazy deal like that lately?

My local grocery store had a markdown on a 10-pound bag of chicken drumsticks for $5 last week, and I swear half the bag was just skin and bone, so I basically paid for a science experiment on chicken anatomy. I split them into 6 freezer bags and now I'm like "what do I even do with 2 pounds of drumsticks?" - probably just roast them and pretend they're not the sad leftovers of some chicken processing plant. Nice score on the thighs though, that's way more usable meat than my pitiful drumstick haul.

Wait, did you get a free chicken anatomy lesson with your purchase? That's rough man. I once bought a "family pack" of wings that turned out to be 60% cartilage and sadness, ended up calling them "freedom wings" because I felt so liberated from having any actual meat. At least with thighs you get some real chow, my drumstick experiment left me chewing on gristle and pretending it was a gourmet meal. Last time I saw a deal that good I probably had to wrestle a 90 year old grandma for it at the discount bin.
