Swallowed my pride and $25 on a set of those meal prep containers with the snap-lid vents that claimed to keep salad crisp for a week

After tossing out a soggy, fermented mess of romaine and cherry tomatoes on day three I'm wondering if anyone has found a container that actually works for more than 48 hours or if I should just go back to making salads the morning of?.

Tell me about that damp paper towel trick - did you put it on top of the greens or underneath them? Because I swear the placement changes everything with those containers.

Wait do people actually put the towel UNDER the greens? I tried it under once and it turned my lettuce into a soggy mess like it had been crying all night. Top layer all the way, just make sure you don't trap it tight or your greens will suffocate faster than my houseplants.
