The frozen veggie shortcut that's not actually cheaper

I see people buying those pre-chopped frozen stir fry bags all the time. But a 2 pound bag is $5 while a whole head of cabbage plus carrots is $1.50. Anyone else notice the math doesn't work out?

Honestly just buy the whole veggies and chop em yourself, way cheaper.

Yeah noah_palmer42 is right, that's the move. I used to buy those pre-cut veggie trays for stir fry and it was like $8 for a tiny bag of limp carrots and broccoli. Started buying whole bell peppers, onions, and carrots and just dicing everything on Sunday. Takes maybe 20 minutes and I save like $5-6 a week easy. Plus the whole veggies last way longer in the fridge so I don't end up tossing as much slimy stuff.
