Unpopular opinion: dried beans are worth the overnight soak, but my cousin says canned wins every time
My grocery bill hit $140 a week for two people back in March, so I tried swapping canned beans for dried ones from the Mexican market on 9th. A 2 pound bag costs $2.50 and makes about 12 servings, while the same amount of cans runs me close to $15. The catch is you have to soak them the night before and they take an hour on the stove, which my cousin says is not worth saving $12. So which side are you on, do you plan ahead for dried beans or grab cans and eat in 5 minutes?
