Used to make pasta from scratch every Sunday. Now I just buy the $1 box.

Lost my job 8 months ago and the $4 for flour and eggs adds up way too fast. The cheap dried stuff gets the job done. Anyone else ditch their fancy cooking habits lately?

I miss that ritual" is right. My "ritual" is now me staring at a box of dried noodles and pretending it brings the same joy as fresh pasta. My rolling pin is basically a paperweight at this point. If I want to feel fancy I throw some salt in the water and call it gourmet.

Yeah I was reading something the other day about how grocery prices have gone up way more than the official numbers show. The writer was saying the cheap stuff like flour and eggs is where you really feel the pinch now. Same boat here, I used to make my own pizza dough every Friday night but now I just grab the premade crusts when they're on sale. It's not the same but when you're counting every dollar you just gotta make it work. I miss that ritual though, there was something nice about the whole process that the box stuff can't replace.
