Vent: My weekly food spend went from $120 to $70 after I stopped buying lunch meat

Switched to roasting a whole chicken on Sundays and slicing it for sandwiches, saved over $200 last month. Anyone got other cheap protein swaps that actually keep you full?

See how we're all quietly quitting the grocery store's convenience tax? My big one was swapping Greek yogurt for those little protein drinks. Half the price and way more filling.

Totally see that happening everywhere now. It's like we all got tired of paying extra for fancy packaging and a brand name. I've been buying the big tub of plain oats instead of single serve flavored packets. Saves a ton and I can just add my own fruit. Feels like a small win against all the sneaky price hikes.

My local store had a 10 lb bag of lentils for like 8 bucks. I make a big pot of soup and it lasts all week, so cheap.
