Friend swore by sleeping in the airport to save cash - worst advice ever

My buddy Mark kept bragging about how he slept overnight at Denver International to avoid a hotel. I tried it last month and security kicked me out of three different gates before 2 AM. Has anyone actually pulled this off without getting woken up every 20 minutes?
