Noticed the airport shuttle loophole in Denver last week

Flew into DEN for a conference and the hotel shuttles all charge $12 one way. Saw a group of people waiting at the curb for the RTD bus that runs from the terminal to the 61st and Peña station, it costs $3 and the route hits most of the big hotels on the east side. I hopped on with them and walked 5 minutes to my place. Skipped the $24 round trip entirely. Anyone else found a cheaper local bus that beats the hotel shuttle at certain airports?
