Overheard someone at the airport gate say they book through the airline's foreign website for cheaper fares
So I'm sitting at gate B12 waiting for my flight to Austin and this guy next to me is on the phone telling his friend to go on the airline's Mexican dot com site instead of the US one. Said he saved $80 on a round trip to Chicago. Has anyone actually tried this or is it gonna flag your account or something? Seems risky but I'm curious.

Jumped on this myself a few months back for a flight to Phoenix. Booked through the airline's Canadian site with a VPN and saved about 60 bucks. Used my regular credit card and didn't get any weird emails or account warnings afterwards. Just made sure the name on the ticket matched my passport exactly and it went through smooth. Only hiccup was the confirmation came in French but the airline app showed everything in English when I checked in. Worked fine for me but I've heard some people say it backfires if you need to change the ticket later because the foreign customer service can be a hassle.

Haha yeah nothing says "vacation mode" like getting your flight confirmation in a language you barely passed in high school. But hey, 60 bucks is 60 bucks, right?
