Saved $40 on my Denver trip by switching hostels midway
I was staying at a hostel in downtown Denver for 4 nights at $55 a night. Second day there I overheard two guys talking about this other place near the art museum that was only $35 if you booked for 3+ nights. I walked over, checked it out, it had free breakfast and a better kitchen setup. I cancelled my last 2 nights, got a partial refund, and pocketed about $40 total. Anyone else ever switch lodging mid-trip to save cash?

Wow, $35 a night with free breakfast? That's insane! I can barely find an Airbnb room for that price in most cities, let alone a hostel with actual breakfast. I gotta say I'm shook that you just walked over mid-stay and got a partial refund too, that usually never works out that smoothly lol. Props to you for being smart about it though, $40 is $40 and that could cover a meal or a couple of museum tickets in Denver.

Used to think switching mid trip was too much hassle but this actually sounds pretty smart. Might have to try it next time.
